Work Is Rough In This Process.

I've done pretty bad this weekend. One of the reasons is that it was the end of the holiday weekend and all the parents were bring leftover desserts from their dinners. Also, another thing that is really heard about eating well at work is that I'm not in control of the menu or the grocery shopping. Pretty much any food that's in the house is up for grabs for anyone to eat. So therefore I can't really buy my own food and take there either.

That's my dilemma with the weekends that I'm stuck at work. Tomorrow I'll be able to hop back on the workout routine and healthier eating habits.

My weekend sucked. Hope your weekend was awesome!

Thanksgiving Craziness

It's been super busy for me these past few days.
Wednesday Kayla called me and said she wasn't feeling well. Naturally I slept in a lot longer and went to the gym later that day. All I did was cardio.
Thanksgiving day I skipped the gym and stuffed myself. I gave myself one day off from worrying about anything regarding my eating or excersize.

Today

I was helping with a project at church so I ate a hamburger and chips that were provided. I'm now at work and don't know what all I will be eating. I do know that I will not be able to go to the gym again until Monday. Hopefully I will be able to be active though!

The First Day Off

So yesterday I decided to take a day off from the gym. Why not? I had gone 7 days in a row! The horrible part was that I was stressed and ate horribly! I probably should have gone to the gym both to work out my stress and help my eating.

Yesterday's Foods
Yesterday I had a bowel of Rice Crispies for breakfast, and of course I put sugar on them! ugh Then for lunch I had the last piece of leftover Meat Me Pizza from Old Chicago. For dinner I had a bowel of Frosted Flakes and a WHOLE FREAKING BAG of popcorn =(  waaaahhhh!!!! 

Today I am beating myself up over yesterday. I did so bad! The second I woke up I text Kayla about going to the gym! So off we went!

Today's Workout
Today I did all cardio. I started on the elliptical and then moved to the treadmill. I then went and rode on the bikes for a while then walked on the treadmill the rest of the time.

Today's Foods
I had a bowel of Frosted Flakes. I know its horrible but I needed to eat something before I went to work out. I haven't had anything else to eat yet. I have had 48oz of water so far and it's only noon!

That's my day so far and this week is going to be rough with Thanksgiving is very near!

One Week

So today is the one week mark of my new lifestyle. I have to say I am pretty proud of myself so far! I was going to take today off from going to the gym since I had gone six days in a row. Kayla text me this evening and got me to go to the gym anyway! I'm not real sure how I feel about working out at night. The gym was definitely a lot more empty than it usually is so that wasn't the issue at all. I guess it was just the fact that it was so late and I'm used to working out in the mornings. I just didn't feel motivated or that I pushed myself hard enough.

Today's Workout
Today was pretty easy. Like I said, I wasn't really in the zone tonight. I did all cardio today. I started with the elliptical and then moved to the treadmill and finally I rode the bikes to end my night.

Today's Foods
Today I had a leftover slice of Old Chicago pizza for breakfast. I had a small bowel of cottage cheese and mandarin oranges for lunch. For dinner I had a piece of chicken with a little bit of pickle relish with it. I drank my 64oz of water!

Saturday Workouts... What?!

I didn't do as well as I wanted to yesterday with my eating. After my workout at the gym I ate some cottage cheese and pineapple. That's not the bad part haha. A friend is in town staying with me and we went to Old Chicago for dinner. I hate feeling like the one to complain that there's nothing to eat there that's good for you and she had suggested just splitting a pizza. We ordered the Meat Me Pizza which is probably LOADED with calories... I also had three pieces... dang it!!  = (   Oh well, I still think I am ahead on burnt calories vs calories I have taken in.

Today
Erin (the friend in town who is staying with me) had a meeting to go to this morning, so I called Kayla up and we ventured to the gym! I had never been to the gym on a weekend because of the same reason I never go in the evenings. I always think it's going to be full of hard core workout people who are in awesome shape and will judge me. That's why I like to go during weekday mid mornings because it has older people who are retired or bigger people who also have the self esteem issues I do, no body builders or anything lol. Anyway, today it really helped having Kayla there because there definitely were a lot more people there. It wasn't as bad as I had expected though!

Workout
Today I was feeling great! No soreness and I had lots of energy! I did both cardio and weights today. I started on the elliptical and then we moved to the bikes. After that we headed up stairs to stretch and do some core stuff. When we were done there, we went back down stairs and to the weight machines. I did a little bit of both arms and legs this time but definitely decided not to push so hard like last week. Being that sore and stiff sucks!

Today's Foods
This morning I had half a banana and an egg. Sometimes eggs can really gross me out and sometimes I LOVE them! haha weird, I know!  Anyway, That's all I've had to eat today so far. I'm waiting for Erin to get back from her meeting to see what we are doing for lunch. I don't think I will be eating the leftover pizza haha she can have that! Tonight for dinner I was invited to go with Erin to her Awards dinner so I guess some sort of steak is on the menu she said. I'm not really a steak eater so I with probably stick to sides and hopefully salads or something!

As It Gets Colder

Yesterday I had an unexpected visitor so I never ended up eating lunch. I made cheese quesadillas and loaded nachos for dinner at work so I had some of that. I did really well yesterday with not eating silly snacks like cookies and chip and all that crap.

Today
Today I woke up feeling great! My muscles weren't sore anymore and I had energy. This is my favorite part of getting back into the swing of things again and working out!

Today's Workout
Kayla and I went for a walk around the park with her dog. Quickly did we decide that was a bad idea given it was terribly windy and cold out. We kept the walk pretty short which was OK with me! I have something wrong with my legs and the muscle that runs up the outside between the shin and the calf coming up from the ankle and ending halfway to the knee. Whenever I walk not even 5 minutes into my walk does that muscle start hurting so bad that I almost always just quit and move on to something else. I don't know whats wrong with my muscles but no matter how much or how often I stretch it, it hurts. The weird thing to me is that it always happens at the same time with the same intensity in BOTH legs same exact muscle. If anyone has any info or suggestions, let me know! I had to slow down but I walked through it because Kayla was with me. Later I decided that I didn't feel like I really got a workout so I did end up going to the gym as well. I stuck with cardio today. I don't know if I have the courage to go to the weights without someone with me, yet. So I did the elliptical and the bike and then the elliptical again.

Today's Foods
This morning I had a yogurt. For lunch, I had a piece of whole grain bread with some peanut butter on it. I have already drank more than 64oz of water. After that I quit counting haha oops... Oh well! I have no idea what I will have for dinner!

Working Through the Pain

So today I want to give you my background story and the reasons for this blog.
I am 22 years old as most of you know! I am extremely over weight. I have tried many diets and exercise routines and have never had any luck on losing weight and keeping it off.

Some of the reasons I want and need to lose weight:
   My first and foremost goal on my bucket list is to go skydiving. As you can imagine, there is a weight limit. I am going to meet that goal first!!  I have a family reunion at the beach this summer and want to be able to wear a regular swim suit without a stupid grandma skirt at the age of 23! Also I am planning on going to Country Stampede again this year. It was so hot and miserable for me last year, I think that if I lose some of this weight it wouldn't be so bad. I just want to be able to do a lot of things that make a bigger person sweat when smaller people are chilly!

The BIGGEST and most important reason I am losing this weight is because if (for whatever reason, may it be skydiving or motorcycle riding or shark swimming or whatever) I become paralyzed, I don't want my caretaker to have to lift my ridiculously heavy body. I personally know how fast a life can change and how difficult it is to deal with heavy people that don't have control over their body. I don't want to put anybody through that. IF that ever were the case, of course.
So those are my main reasons right now. There are so many that it's just time!!

On to TODAY: 
I get a text this morning from Kayla (my friend that has been going to the gym with me) saying that she didn't think she was going to make it to the gym this morning. I was a little bummed but thought it might be a good idea to skip a day so my muscles could relax since I was so sore and stiff last night. Then Kayla calls me and we talk each other into going to the gym! YAY for motivational friends =)

My Workout:
Today I did cardio. I worked out on the elliptical and walked the track and then rode the bikes for a while. Notice I didn't put times or distances on any of that lol. I don't like to look at that stuff right now because I just beat myself up after I'm done thinking I'm so horrible that I can't even go however long. I decided that this time I'm not going to weigh myself nearly as often as I usually do and that I was going to workout according to how I felt and not what the machine says. I even cover up the screen with a towel so I'm not tempted and so I don't discourage myself. Sometimes I think that if I can't go as long as the person next to me then why am I even there? I know I know, that's stupid and I have to work through those thoughts. And I'm going to!! Kayla then wanted to do abs. I went up with her but I ended up just stretching because my muscles are so tight. And I have heard there really is no point to doing abs until I get the fat off my stomach so that I can tone the abs. So I stuck to cardio for today.

My Foods:
I have quit trying any specific diet due to failure lol. I'm keeping it plain and simple! Burn more calories than you eat. I am stupid when it comes to good foods vs bad foods and fatty foods vs lean foods and all that jazz so really I'm just focusing on the calories for now!
This morning for breakfast I had an egg and a bagel with a little bit of jelly on it. I know jelly's not the best but this blog is not for you to judge me but simply for me to be able to write things down!

That is my day so far! It's lunch time now and I am not hungry! I will probably have a little something though.

The Start of Something Great

I'm starting this blog because as many people do, I have tried time and time again to lose weight and have never succeeded. I am posting a blog because I believe having it out there and for people to read may help me stay focused on both my eating habits and my excersize. So, here goes nothing...

I have started going to the gym again. I started Monday and have gone Tuesday and Wednesday as well. Right now I am SUPER sore from pushing so hard and have started to think about skipping tomorrow but I know that if I skip just one day right now I will not be able to stick to going to the gym. I'm going to work through it and maybe just not work as hard as I have the past few days.

There's the start. That's the most important part,right? To start? For me it is anyway. Ill start really blogging about everything tomorrow. I just wanted to start it up tonight! Anyway I hope you enjoy or at least encourage this blog. If you don't, I don't care. I'm doing me and you just do you! ;)
